Tap-A-Way Metal Art

Box Lid. Measures 12.5" x 17.5".

The Snow White "Tap-A-Way Metal Art" set was produced by the Naylor Corporation, circa 1938. It consisted of a collection of eight thick laminated cardboard plaques, each with a foil metal sheet applied to the top which displayed one of the character images. Also included was a spring tapping tool. This was used to give the plaques "Effects Similar To Hammered Copper."

This particular set was unused and sold in auction by Hake's for $172.50 (USD)...

Collector Rick Payne recently found another example of the set where all the plaques have been tapped. We get to see what the finished product is supposed to looks like; it does kind of have the appearance of hammered copper.

The Dwarfs measure 3.5" x 5.5" and Snow White 5.5" x 6.5". Each has the "© W.D. ENT." notation.
